LSSI Internship Program
LSSI is currently accepting applications for its internship program. The upcoming fall internship period runs from approximately mid-September through mid-December, depending on an intern’s school schedule.
Internships are unpaid, but they can be used for academic credit, and they provide students with hands-on job training to prepare them for careers in social services.
Internships require a minimum of 10 to 15 hours of work per week, with flexible daytime hours. If the agency has extra projects or work that needs completed outside of the 10 to 15 hours, the intern can choose to work more hours.
The goal of the LSSI Internship Program is to recruit current and previous qualified interns for job openings with the agency, and to provide experiential learning to college students interested in careers in social services. However, LSSI cannot guarantee openings will be available at the end of the internship period, nor does the agency guarantee employment if openings are available.
